Charlie is based in Detroit, Michigan, and brings to YOUNG & Associates nearly a decade of experience in the construction, engineering, and insurance industries. He received a degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University and is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Illinois. Charlie is an experienced consultant and scheduling expert with a broad range of expertise, including delay analysis, cost analysis, project management, dispute resolution, litigation support, and claims consultancy within the construction and insurance markets. Charlie primarily focuses on providing the insurance market opinions on delay surrounding delay in start-up (DSU) endorsements of Builders Risk insurance policies and the evaluation of the period of restoration for Business Interruption (BI) claims. In his role with YOUNG & Associates, Charlie leads the scheduling services division to help provide the highest quality of consulting services for Builders Risk claims, Business Interruption claims, and scheduling services to the insurance market. To do so, he leans heavily on his extensive knowledge of CPM scheduling, industry-accepted schedule analysis methods, expert report writing, and verbal communication skills to effectively and concisely communicate questions and opinions to all parties involved. Complementing these skills is his extensive background in project scheduling, project management, civil engineering, and construction which helps him provide each one of YOUNG & Associates' clients with well-reasoned, supported opinions to lead to fair, unbiased resolutions. To date, Charlie has consulted claims exceeding 1 billion dollars in total. Before his role acting as a consultant in the insurance industry, Charlie worked in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry as a senior design engineer and site engineer on large industrial, residential, and transportation projects around the United States.
